History

At the beginning of 2001, the LGC decided to allocate an overall annual budget to its young PhD students to encourage them to set up their own projects. A group of PhD students took this opportunity to create Alambic. It is a non-profit-making association open to all non-permanent staff of the LGC. The Governing Board or Bureau of the association is elected for a one-year mandate. In 2008, the Institut National Polytechnique of Toulouse (INPT) decided to give to the association an annual subsidy to make it free and independent to carry out its activities.
